A Senior Mortgage Loan Originator at Mann Mortgage, LLC in Maui, Hawaii, George F. Thoma embarked on his career in real estate lending after a long and successful career as a professional chef. He is comprehensively certified through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Abacus Mortgage Training and Education in 2011. Prior to accepting his current post, Mr. Thoma amassed a great deal of experience as a home loan consultant at Maui’s Central Pacific Bank and at the International Mortgage Company.

The recipient of numerous awards for high sales, George Thoma stresses honesty and integrity in every aspect of his business practice. This approach garners a steady stream of new and returning clients who seek him out for his financial expertise and vast knowledge of lending protocol.

George F. Thoma completed his culinary arts studies in Bamberg & Bad Kissingen, a spa town situated in Germany’s State of Bavaria. After honing his skills in the kitchens of several lauded German and Swiss Hotels , Mr. Thoma relocated to Singapore & Japan working for the 6 Star Plus Cruise Ship Song of Flower now called “Regent Seven Seas Cruise Line.” There, he developed a fondness for Pan-Asian cuisine that continues to inspire his personal cooking endeavors to this day.

In 1994, he received an offer to step in as a sous chef at the Grand Wailea Hotel-Resort and Spa in Maui, a position initially contracted for two years. Demonstrating impressive aptitude and creativity with his menus, George Thoma remained at the Grand Wailea Resort and Spa until 2004. During this time, he oversaw a regular schedule of catering events for up to 2,800 Guests. He prepared meals for many celebrities and politicians including Michael Jackson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and former President George H. W. Bush. Except for a yearlong tenure as Restaurant Chef at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Mr. Thoma has opted to stay and settled in his adopted hometown with his family on Maui.
